When it comes to cutting boards, cork has some surprising benefits in the kitchen and home. Cork wood is a durable, high density surface that is resistant to wear and impermeable to liquids. Our cork cutting boards are slip resistant, lightweight, and cushions knife blades to keep them sharp. Naturally hypo-allergenic, anti-microbial and anti-fungal. Cork comes from the outer bark of trees, and harvesting of cork does not harm the tree, as it regenerates quickly and is both renewable and biodegradable. All cork is not equal. Our source is composition cork, which contains no PVCs or formaldehyde. It is sustainably harvested every 10 to 12 years from the Cork Oak tree indigenous to Northern China. Care instructions: clean in hot soapy water and wipe dry. Not recommended for dishwasher, microwave, or prolonged soaking. Maintain cork products similar to wood - revive with all-natural cream or oil. Measures 12" x 7.5"
